What should you use Borage for?

We've been sending out a number of grow your own cocktail and gin lovers gift sets over the last few weeks. These are packed full of seeds for creating the most delicious summer drinks with home grown tasty, beautiful garnishes.


One of the seeds included is Borage, so we thought we'd share with you a Borage cocktail recipe and idea we've used in the past - get ready for sunshine and give this a go!


Sparkling Borage


Borage Syrup

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 cup Borage leaves


Boil sugar and water until dissolved. Pick herbs and put in heatproof jug. Pour syrup over and leave to cool. Strain and discard the herbs, keep in airtight container.


Ingredients

25ml Gin

25ml Elderflower Liqueur

25ml Borage Syrup

Splash Lime Juice

Splash Soda Water


Garnish: Borage Flower Ice Cubes


Method

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the gin, elderflower, borage syrup, and lime juice.


Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


Add borage flower ice cubes and top with soda water.
